Lucas Marxen is the Director of the NJAES Office of Research Analytics at Rutgers University where he provides leadership and direction on the development of analytical capabilities and services to meet the ongoing demand of stakeholders both within and outside the university. Lucas has expertise in developing geographic information systems (GIS), enabling spatial analysis and modeling for research initiatives in a variety of disciplines. In addition, he leads a team that specializes in developing data informatics systems that combine computer science and data visualization techniques into platforms that bring research and data to a broad set of stakeholders. He has also established in-house capacity for developing custom software, database and website solutions for a variety of research and extension initiatives. Lucas earned a Master in City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rutgers University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Planning and Public Policy from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.

Kevin Sullivan

Kevin Sullivan, Assistant Director of Statistical Analysis, provides leadership on the analytical aspects of projects, performs statistical analysis and econometric modeling, and performs economic impact modeling. Kevin has more than a decade of experience developing statistical analysis plans and performing statistical analysis. Kevin earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Delaware, and an M.S. in Agricultural Economics and M.S. in Applied Statistics from Rutgers University.

Daniel Farnsworth

Dan Farnsworth performs the computer programming necessary to meet the on-line research and outreach needs of various grant-funded projects. Dan is a web developer and software programmer who designs and implements database-driven websites and custom software applications. He specializes in LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) based website design and integration of interactive mapping interfaces. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Rutgers University.

Michelle Stuart

Michelle Stuart studied Biology at Western Michigan University. After college, she took on many different jobs including working on a live-aboard sailboat, as a university graduation auditor, and as a high school science teacher, before studying molecular biology of marine organisms and receiving her M.Sc. from University of North Carolina Wilmington to become a marine biologist. Michelle was a field biologist, working in remote Arctic Alaska and the reefs of the Philippines. While working on the data for those research projects, she discovered a passion for coding and data analysis. She is now an Application Developer in the Office of Research Analytics developing databases and building back-ends to support websites that allow users to visualize and play with data.
