
ORA staff have developed in-house capacity to provide the NJAES/SEBS community with a centralized resource for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), aerial-based sensors and payloads, and data management and storage solutions to advance their application in research, extension and education programs. Our current resources includes:
- FAA Certified Pilots for Unmanned Aircraft Systems
- Professional level drone with high resolution photo/video camera (DJI Inspire 1 Pro)
- Professional drone mapping and photogrammetry software (Pix4D, ArcGIS, DJI GS Pro)

- Digital Surface & Terrain Models
- 3D Point Cloud and Textured Models

Bear Roll-Over Assessment Project
Project Investigators: Stephen Komar (NJAES/RCE) & Lucas Marxen (NJAES/ORA)
UAS flights were conducted over corn fields in Sussex County, NJ to assess the the damage from bear roll-over. This is a pilot project to assess data collection and analysis for future work.
